in the long run an app like this should work offline. I must have access to my data at all times in order to be able to work with it in a meaningful way. From trains without WiFi to use in the wild, there are many places where internet connection is not possible or at least problematic

As many others here, I def agree about offline also coming from Obsidian.
It looks like my main GOAL in life is to categorize the Zillions (with a B), of videos, sounds, photos, and game graphics assets into a system that allows me to locate any file, no matter the host system or storage medium (magnet drive / SSD, memory card, or optical disc) etc.
Like Obsidian, Capacities, lets me directly LINK to files on my computer - a crucial feature that sealed the deal for me to start working with Capacities.
I prefer Capacities' Object system to Obsidian's folder structures and plugins, however Obsidian wins with its 100% local files only access!
The ONE "please , Please, PLEASE" request I have for the Capacities team is to add the OPTION to specify which files (or groups of files) that should never get uploaded to their web servers.
I have so many reference images, audio/video libraries, graphic animation libraries—terabytes of media that would be impossible to have uploaded to servers just to have them cataloged in Capacities.
From my initial testing, Capacities' mobile image access immensely improves my Image review / rating workflow!
But again, these are local images that ended up on Capacities servers and didn't remain local ona file share drive!
I want these assets to remain local for my cataloging and rating chores.
I don't mind _generated thumbnail previews (proxies)_, but I NEED the option(s) to keep original / large media files offline!
Please consider adding _generated_ watermarked previews (like image thumbnails or GIF videos) for online viewing, while keeping the originals files linked locally offline.
(PS - I find Obsidian's approach to resizing images by including '|320' at the end of the image filename to be quite useful! For GiFS the ability to choose the start time and length would be perfect!)
I'm really staring to enjoy Capacities taking the time to learn it!
Please Dev team - I would love to use Capacities to organize my huge asset libraries; please find a solution allowing local asset linking/viewing/rating, and on mobile - thumbnail/animGIF previews / proxies so I can catalog and rate on mobile as well! Thanks!

Offline mode will help students like me for studying, even when I'm away from home, Since I don't use a phone but prefer WSA on my 2-in-1 PC.
