Smart link suggestions | Unlinked Mentions

capacities supporting you in creating links, including:
- unlinked references (suggesting in-text links if title matches your text, also for tags)
- suggestions of content on the side, similar to what you are working on (NLP, graph-based suggestions)
- duplicate detection
We have this on our roadmap and we know it can create immense value but we currently focus on more urgent topics. Feel free to share your ideas here.

I wonder why this is not at the top of the list. Unlinked references is to knowledge management tools as beat is to drums.

All mentions on one page?

Is it possible to have capacities display a page/note with all lines/blocks that include a tag, backlink, or search term? (Possibly as result of a search, clicking on a tag, or other?)
Let's say I’m studying nutrition and vitamin C is mentioned hundreds of times in my notes. I'm never specifically focused on studying vitamin C, but it happens to come up over and over in a variety of lessons. Then, in the future, I end up needing to write a paper on Vitamin C.
I could...
- search for “vitamin C” and see a list of objects that mention vitamin c, then click through each one and review the relevant line/block.
- have used a tag ~if I had foreseen that I needed that tag~, click it, see each object that mentions it, and then click through each one.
- have created a page to backlink if I had foreseen that I needed it, but would still need to remember to pause and link each option and/or scroll back through
It could be time intensive to click into each mention, or expand each backlink to jump to the context. So maybe I'm missing something?
It would be a huge timesaver to see all lines/blocks for mentions of "vitamin C" populated into one page. Seeing everything for that connection where I hadn't predicted I would need that connection and/or easily being able to scan all contexts of a mention/tag etc.
(I feel like I may not be explaining this well. I'll try to think on another way to explain and add as as a comment if so.)

Hi Courtney, thanks for sharing. This is an excellent point! We are working on two systems for this:
- Extended search (just released, see https://capacities.io/whats-new/release-31) which can show all mentions of vitamin C in combination with bulk operations (coming soon) which will allow you to pick elements from that search
- Unlinked mentions (planned), there should be a ticket. I'll merge your request into that ticket.

This would be a wonderful addition for my own use. As well as displaying unlinked mentions if it was possible to easily click and link the suggestions would be awesome. On that note, it would also be beautiful to be able to highlight a word and turn it into an already created page or tag
Steffen Bleher
Kane Dodgson: Thanks for sharing. About the latter: You can do this already. Highlight a word and type @. You can then search for that object.

I love this idea. It was mentioned that it should work like Obsidian's Various Compliments, but I find the constant dropdown menus to be very distracting while I type.
Alternative UX: after you type a word/phrase that looks like the title of a page, the phrase is subtly highlighted. You can click it to confirm a link to another page. Even if you don't click to confirm, it shows up as a "suggested backlink" on the page it is most associated with.
Use Case: I'm writing a novel, and every time I mention the protagonist Cameron, it would automatically link to my main page on Cameron, as well as every scene they are in, without needing me to explicitly create these links.

Steffen Bleher - Curious to know if there are any updates on unlinked mentions? Thank you for all that you and your team are doing!
Steffen Bleher
Damian Morales: Thanks so much for the kind words. No updates at the moment. But we have some great ideas which go beyond using simple unlinked mentions. We'll keep you posted here.
