All the above please. Being a newcomer to Capacities and predominately using it to record, track and follow up on meetings, a built in task manager is essential for my work flow.

Agreed with many of the comments below. Let Tasks be query-able as a block type.
e.g. Tasks from [[Specific Page]] or [[Object Type]], etc.

Tasks (checklists) as objects
L
Luiz Cristofari
Every task(checklist) created on a page is gathered into the tasks object with backlink information from the page that task is on.
This helps to centralize and separate all active checklists in the capacities into one place by pages.
This way, I don't need to open file X to see the checklist for that file, I can go directly to the tasks object and have access to any open task.
Number 1 is the button that takes you to the page that has this checklist.
Number 2 shows the filter and search options that I can use to find the specific task
Number 3 is the name of the page where this checklist is located
(This printscreen is from Scrintal tasks function).

Will this include the option to query regular "todo"-boxes in my pages/notes? Would like to get an overview of those across my whole space.

I vote highly for tasks. But with an emphasis on executing the basics of tasks and, not so many bells and whistles and other features that can be added over time later.

So much discussion about "wants" "needs" etc. for tasks which is more reason to PLEASE DO NOT GET WRAPPED UP IN THIS!
Capacities is 2nd to none for note-taking. Focus on that. Build on that. Be the BEST on that!
The task management door will just open the app to a world of bloat and crushed dreams.
There are a LOT of great task management apps out there, please don't try to compete.

Bellicio Torres I get where you are coming from but I really want to avoid using multiple apps with duplicated functionality especially if they don't integrate well (I don't like the current integration with todoist for example, it should be two way but it is not). Having a calendar but no task management in Capacities is somewhat strange, it effectively limits the use of the calendar to the past, as a log not as a planner (with some caveats). Personally I would just like to have some form of Kanban boards for tasks with status. To me that should not take anything away from the notetaking functionality of the app.

Bellicio Torres Totally agree! Task management will make it become more and more bloated, putting omnifocus/things/todoist in capacities will be a nightmare. With due/start date there will be people wanting notification wanting recurring task wanting widget wanting ifttt... There are so many great task management apps out there now, let each app do what they're good at.

Antonio Lopardo Your comment "Having a calendar but no task management in Capacities is somewhat strange, it effectively limits the use of the calendar to the past, as a log not as a planner" is exactly the point!
Capacities is a LOG not a PLANNER. It's about taking notes on things that have happened. Seeing them on a calendar can be helpful for remembering what happened when. It's about making connections. It's about reviewing and understanding.
Let's keep it that way ;-)

Bellicio Torres it might be the point for some users, but the service's objective is to be "A studio for your mind" not "A log for your mind" and if the idea is the we would spend significant amounts of time setting up our objects and KG why should we not expect some planning/look ahead/task management functionality?

Hi, looking forward to tasks intergration.
Like to haves include.
Intergration with Calendar eg own calendar, google outlook etc.
Options for start date as well as due date.
Option to have duration, of task with ability to increase time allocated.
Overall time tracking, similar to Toggl track would be fantastic.
Reminders
Sub tasks
Dependencies
Different views, calendar, time line gantt - would work nicely with the projects object.

Can we make sure that the tasks that aren't completed do not go away after the deadline? It would be really helpful to make them stick until they're either done or rescheduled or deleted.
