Better Image Previews for PDF, Images, and Weblinks
A
Aron Sigþórsson
When adding images to Capacities, particularly from adding images from my phone to capacities, it all just imports as "Untitled" and I don't like the fact that I have to rename them all manually, there's gotta be some better way to automatically name them. When adding weblinks all the preview images (if they decide to appear at all, many weblinks just don't create an image preview) are also "Untitled" and it just gets messy and impossible to find anything when everything is "Untitled". Sometimes PDFs just don't create a preview image, this PDF in particular with the missing preview was added by forwarding an email to save@capacities.io, at least these previews are not "Untitled" so that's an improvement. In general, all these preview images for the objects needs to improve for a more consistent experience.

Zooming in on images isn't working right

I tend to have long, narrow images uploaded to Capacities. When I click the zoom in button the centre point doesn't seem to be central, so the more you zoom the more the whole image jumps off to the right and off-screen. I'm having to open them in a separate browser window to be able to zoom in correctly. Same behaviour seen if the image is displayed as a main page or in the side panel, with or without any note/property panes showing.

Please add a simple image viewer. I would like to open the image in an enlarged view with the ability to zoom, rather than opening the image as the object by default.
Also good idea is edit mode (editor) for images with:
crop, rotate, monochrome functions.

On the mobile app (Android), full screen viewing of an image with a simple pinch zoom (instead of the percent) and landscape view would be best.

"Please support pasting of both images and text like Notion, Obsidian, and Onenote." Absolutely. I have only been able to paste images from websites, not from other apps.

Totally agree with images resize or putting them next to each other. Like in Clickup when page is divided in multiple columns and You can put them in one line. See attached

bulk insertion (mention; reference) of images / media *from within* Capacities
v
vision assemblies
I just realized there is no ticket for this, though this seems like one of the bigger 'missing basics': there is currently no way to insert more than one image into an object via referencing / mentioning. one has to tediously do it one-by-one, like we´re in the 1990s 🕺
accidentally, I just found out it works the other way round. there is an undocumented way coming from the media-type objects to 'move' multiple items via 'bulk action' (bottom action menu) into an object (though there is no control about positioning, and it always appends at the end). while this is good, the more regular workflow will be: I am working on the content of an object and want to insert multiple media items / images from there.
– … currently that is simply impossible… 🤷
