Flashcards as Objects

Hi, I know the spaced-repetition feature isn't coming anytime soon, but I was wondering if an object design for flashcards could be implemented so we could create flashcards the same way we can create definitions, quotes, etc. The object should be able to offer an option to hide the answer; it could be a dynamic card that can be flipped to show the answer, for example.
Thank you so much!

Feature Request: Spaced Repetition and Flashcards for Academic Learners and Content Creators
Why I Need This
As an academic learner and content creator, I use Capacities to organize study notes and craft engaging narratives. Adding spaced repetition and flashcard functionality, inspired by RemNote, would help me memorize key facts and transform them into compelling content, all within Capacities’ networked structure.
What I Want
- Easy Flashcard Creation
Need: Create flashcards within notes to retain essential concepts for study or content.
Example: Type Key term :: Definition or use a button to mark as a flashcard.
Types: Basic, cloze (e.g., The theory of ==relativity== was proposed by Einstein), image-based for visuals.
Fit: Link flashcards to related notes or tags, allowing seamless navigation to context for content creation.
- Spaced Repetition for Retention
Need: A system to schedule flashcard reviews at optimal intervals for long-term retention.
Use an algorithm like FSRS to adjust intervals (e.g., 3, 6, 12 days) based on recall ratings (“Hard,” “Good,” “Easy”).
Include a “Cram Mode” for deadlines, like exams or content releases.
Fit: Practice flashcards by topic or note to align with study or project goals.
- Practice Interface
Need: A “Flashcards” tab for daily review of due cards, with offline mobile access for flexibility.
Modes: Spaced repetition for retention, “Practice All” for content prep.
Fit: Include a streak tracker to motivate consistent study and creation habits.
- Analytics and Integration
Need: Track progress with stats on reviews and retention.
Integrate flashcards with Capacities’ dashboards for study and projects.
Fit: Export flashcards for content sharing or import decks from RemNote for academic use.
How It Helps
Learning: Retain facts 2-3x faster, per spaced repetition research, for academic success.
Content Creation: Turn flashcards into narratives for engaging stories.
Workflow: Centralize notes and flashcards in Capacities for a streamlined process.
Final Note
This feature would make Capacities indispensable for studying and storytelling, empowering academic learners and content creators. Please consider adding it to enhance my workflow!

I would greatly appreciate a spaced repetition system within Capacities. I'd use it primarily for learning a language (I currently have a Space dedicated to studying Spanish), but would also use it for re-surfacing ideas, quotes, etc. from within my main Space.

Please make it BROADER than just flashcards or a strict Spaced Repetition approach.
I am not a student and I don't have to learn anything. But I would like to REMEMBER the notes I take... 🙂
For me no need for flashcards with partly obscured content, "good" or "bad" answers, etc. etc. Just being reminded about my favourite quotes according to a predefined schedule.
Example: remind me of a nice Quote every day.
Or: a Poem every week.
Thank you!

Hopefiully, FlashCards / Spaced repetition will be added, soon. I think nowadays, it's so important to use a tool like Capacities not just to simply store information (... because pretty much every information is available with the blink of an eye anyway with the help of AI). I see it more as a tool to improve my own thinking & my own knowledge. By writing things down in my words (and thus already learning), by connecting & growing ideas (and thus learning again) ... any, well, by repeating again & again. And that part is still missing.... . So a native & cool way to have some sort of spaced repetition would be a real booster for Capacities for everyone studying something in some way or another.
Hey, I just watched the video about the random notes queries that are now available. Why not use this structure to also allow a way to "built" a spaced repetition page? By adding the "spaced repetition" algorithm as a choice besides "random". It would be already cool if I could built a query like "show me x cards with the tags y and z ... that are next to be repeated again". Even without a "did I answer it right" algo, it would still already be a huge improvement over not having it at all.

It’s been over two years since we first asked for flashcards. They’re essential for so many of us, but it feels like the developers just aren’t into spaced repetition, which is probably why we’re still waiting.

I use Anki and I would love to have a similar feature in Capacities or a way to synchronise notes with Anki (bi-directionally)

Please prioritize this feature. I am a student and freelancer and for me regularly learning the content I am creating is very important.
A spaced repetition system with Active Recall Notes can help us a lot.
Some of my ideas for this feature would be:
- A predefined "Learning TAG collection" with levels of recalling efficiency.
- This TAG SELECTION would directly share e numerical value for the number of days that the spaced repetition DUE DATE should be set.
- This numerical value can be integrated into the DATE picker system (Future version with Task and Recurring features), which would automatically create DUE DATE and reminder. Also, it will show up below the Calendar side bar as DUE Revision TASK.
-- FLASHCARD is not needed immediately as INDEX CARD view can be easily repurposed with custom property display (hint or anything else) and a separate Query view pinned to show the Answers (Content) along with the Title (Question) of the Index Card.
So, just an advanced DATE property is needed to implement this feature. Later on it can always evolve with every iteration of the development.
Please consider the feature as it will greatly help all the users engaged with learning and skill-based courses.
