Feature Request: Make headers more discernable
complete

When writing a doc, headers are very difficult to differentiate between the levels. Headers 1-4 when next to each other look very similar and without styling, colors, or other flagging do very well and blending in with text around it
I would love to see differentiation, or controls in the editor settings to set our own color, size, itlatics, etc., for headers and their respective levels

This has been slightly improved in the latest update. Hope that helps!

Thanks for the additional input and feedback, we'll look into it again.

Release 36 (https://capacities.io/whats-new/release-36) improved the visual hierarchy of H1-4 headings, but not so much that I can now tell which is which without opening the outline in the right sidebar or the six dot menu. Which also means taking my hand off they keyboard.
Heading 1 (which I don't use, habit from content marketing) is distinct in its styling, but the rest aren't. Especially the difference between H2 and H3 is so slight, I can't say which is which UNLESS you they are very close together. Even when relatively close together (second image), it's still a very close call.
So, yes, please give us the ability to set our own styling for H1-4:
- size,
- bold/italic/both,
- color,
- background color (and whether that's for the text or the paragraph width),
- space before/after.
Then I can create something like I have in GDocs (third image) and always know the level of a heading simply by looking at that single heading.
An ability to set these globally (i.e. all of Capacities) would suffice (see other comment) and be a huge improvement in my user experience.

I don't understand how/why this only has 5 now 6) upvotes! 😅 This is clearly a problem when you try to add a bunch of text. The distinction is clearly not visible, and even in the TOC on the sidebar it's not easy to see the hierachy. It's a sham because it makes the page really hard to read and look like it has no structure :-(

Yes, I too find it difficult to discern the hierarchy levels.
Not sure about having these capabilities in the editor, though.
I don't want to end up having to set this for every single page.
So, unless this comes with an option to 'update global styles', I'd prefer to have just the ability to style hierarchy levels 'globally': for all pages in the current space (possibly even per account).
