Collections for Tasks

Collections would be super helpful. I am a manager in fortune 500 and one of the things I love about capacities is that it allows me to have my personal notes and work notes in one space (and I can go from Windows to Mac, to iPhone), but I have 'Work Tasks' 'Home Tasks' 'Personal Tasks' and 'Tasks for my Team to Follow-up'. I created a workaround where I changed 'pending' to 'work tasks' and added 'personal tasks' (etc), then changed 'complete' to 'work task complete' and 'personal task complete'. Quite a workaround, but does allow for categorization similar to collections. Upvote for collections!

Collections would be fantastic and could act in a similar fashion to "Areas" for those familiar with Things :)

Huge bump for this one. I used collections to organize tasks into different areas/contexts. The current solution for contexts mixes all the possible contexts together at the same level - including the task date.
Contexts was a great way to organize work into areas. I've tried to use the new tasks but it's unwieldy for my even modest tracking.
This also means we need some way to view the context in list view (so if we list all tasks for the day we can see what 'area' they are in). So this goes back to list view customization as well, another feature.
Thanks! Really want to love tasks in Capacities!

I'll prefer to have the option to use tags as another way to contextualize tasks.

Could it also be possible to use tags as contexts for tasks? I don't think you can do that at the moment.

Benjamin Maggs: Tasks have tag support :)

Thanks Beth! I can now add tags as context to tasks - I wasn't able to yesterday.
Edit - I tested a little more. When using the add new task modal, you can enter tags into the context field (but they are actually added to the tag field), but when editing an existing task you can't add tags into the context field, they have to go in the tag field, that's why I thought they weren't working.
These tags appear in the task view, but I can't see a way to use them to filter or group the task list. E.g., my work is split between customer relationships and general IT tasks - Having the context view separate out tasks which belong to each customer is really helpful, but it would also be great if I could have a group of all tasks tagged with 'IT', so that I can focus on those when I have my technology manager hat on! Thank you so much your your help!

Nice to have, but I think you can achieve something similar using Tags.

Agreed — it would pull tasks into the perennial "collections vs tags" quandary. :) But I do think that collections would be a helpful layer of organization.
