Can't select content by dragging mouse over content (to copy and paste elsewhere)

To be fair, you can select multiple chunks of content by dragging the mouse to select that content if you start the mouse drag outside the content... or perhaps somewhere else.
But I typically begin dragging from the text within a chunk or block (not sure what you call them)
So when I try to drag and select content from other blocks, if I started that mouse drag selection within the text of a different block, I can only select content within the block I started from. I don't know if that makes sense, so I'll try to elaborate. If you imagined my separated text paragraphs here in this feedback form as separate text blocks in capacities, if I started dragging my mouse to select all of the text directly at the "To" of the first word, or perhaps at the "be" (second word)... I am not able to drag the mouse to select other paragraphs like this current one. It only allows selection of the first block.
Maybe it's just me but it has a bit of a UI shock value to think the interface doesn't allow me to mouse drag to select all of the content.
