Bundle objects types in groups

When you have more and more object types, the navigation lists become very 'messy' and disorganized. It would be nice if we could group related objects together.
For example, I would like to group the object types Expressions, Proverbs, and Sayings under the category (group) of Languages."

The ability to sort and hide or show databases would be a big help to me. Ideally an overarching folder structure that I could use to expand and collapse parts of the database list in the sidebar.

Categorize object types

It would be beneficial to add optional feature to capacities to add extra layer of categorisation above object types. I would like to have an ability to group object types by their nature, which gives me more flexibility in building a system I want. Currently I use colors for grouping by object types, but built-in feature (even a section in sidebar) would help me visualise it even better.

I see several posts on here about being able to better organise the sidebar. While I understand that implementing a hierarchy for the objects is probably not the way to go and a bit against the Capacities viewpoint, it would be nice to just be able to visually separate different objects.
For example, I use just one space in Capacities for almost everything in my life, personal as well as professional. I now created a few 'dummy' objects with lots of lines and a description: "--------GENERAL-------" or "------MEMORIES-------" or "------ENTERTAINMENT------". While I do not strictly need the description, I would be very happy just to have a basic way of dividing these objects into larger groups. A simple divider line would do the trick.

Not actively worked on, moved to open for now.

Yup, as im creating more objects type, the sidebar is becoming too much cluttered / overwhelming for me so folders to group and collapse certains objects type would be very appreciated.

Please!! I would love to have the Object Types collapsible by groups. I understand the idea of why it isn't but it becomes a mess for those that have many different types and having to scroll all the way down to find what you want when a grouping would be easier.. It's a hassle to navigate without it and I think that's why when it starts to get messy I start looking other places to find if there's someplace that would help me manage it better. But I keep with C because it's a system that doesn't confuse me.

I agree. I have several objects, and they are becoming really hard to order.

One month with Capacities, my sidebar has already become not easy to navigate at the first glance and I feel too pressured to not create new object types and clutter the bar, although I really need those separate types. I've never experienced this with other apps.
Would be a game changer being able to just group these object types in the sidebar the way I want

Lexie Sanders: Totally get your point. We want to add this and will try to find a good spot for it on our roadmap soon.

Here is a different take on a particular case of bloating of the object list: https://capacities.io/feedback/p/implement-some-kind-of-preferred-hierarchy-scope-namespace. In this case it's the result of the accumulation of obsolete object types that were relevant in the past and you still want to keep but "archived". I see this as a consequence of the more general problem of not being able to flag a relationship as "belongs here" and the preference for flat, global lists. I give other examples but not at this "meta" level but on the more familiar ground of pages.

As silly as it sounds, the ability of grouping in the sidebar, is what's holding me from switching to Capacities. Am I the only one having these kind of problems? :)))
