Bundle objects types in groups

When you have more and more object types, the navigation lists become very 'messy' and disorganized. It would be nice if we could group related objects together.
For example, I would like to group the object types Expressions, Proverbs, and Sayings under the category (group) of Languages."

With the latest update going out today, it is now possible to create multiple custom sections in the left sidebar to group related object types, tags, queries, collections or individual objects for fast access. Thank you for your feedback!

CURSE YOU CAPACITIES!
With the recent 'Tasks' update (paid) and now this new solution to a major organizational and presentation pain point (free), I somehow find myself in a 14 day trial and I feel a subscription coming on after almost 2 years of on/off use of the free version.
I also want to give a shout out to what seems to be a faster, more targeted, release schedule! The Capacities crew seems to be firing on all cylinders. Thanks, and keep it up!

Michael von Hohnhorst It'd be great to see a video demo of this.

Toggle 'folder' for objects in sidebar
E
Elise TT
I'm not sure if this has been asked before, but i've created quite a bit of objects because i like the idea of using 1 space for everything (in my case things im consuming, research, personal projects and goal planning), but my object side-bar has therefore become quite long. It would be nice to put objects in a toggle 'folder' in the sidebar based on similarity.
e.g. object types 'books', 'media', 'music', 'art' could be in a toggle folder 'consuming', object types 'people', 'periods', 'events' could be in a toggle folder 'history'

Better Object Hierarchy in Sidebar

It would be good to see better hierarchy of object on the side bar or the ability to put object categories into folders to allow for better organisation.

Object types management

Add deeper object type management than coloring and sorting: Grouping, nesting, and hiding.
- Groups/ Separators helps keep larger collections organized by clustering related object types (eg. books, chapters, insights)
- Nesting would go one step further by allowing objects, that are always bound to a parent object type (eg. chapters to books)
- Hiding would just keep the object type overview more tidy

a toggle to collapse and expand the group that we want to focus would be great

left sidebar improvements

I think the left sidebar got better for sure. two ways in which I think it could get better still:
1) extend folding to object list internal organization
I like the option to fold w/in left sidebar. but as long as it only carries pinned items + object list, this is of restricted surplus. one big surplus I´d see if this folding headers logic could be extended to create collections of 'object types' – and then allow folding them according to use
2) pinned objects should always stay visible IMO – as they are 'pinned' for a reason :-) – if one wants them 'out of view / the way', one can... fold them ;-)

Folders for databases

The ability to sort and hide or show databases would be a big help to me. Ideally an overarching folder structure that I could use to expand and collapse parts of the database list in the sidebar.

Categorize object types

It would be beneficial to add optional feature to capacities to add extra layer of categorisation above object types. I would like to have an ability to group object types by their nature, which gives me more flexibility in building a system I want. Currently I use colors for grouping by object types, but built-in feature (even a section in sidebar) would help me visualise it even better.

I see several posts on here about being able to better organise the sidebar. While I understand that implementing a hierarchy for the objects is probably not the way to go and a bit against the Capacities viewpoint, it would be nice to just be able to visually separate different objects.
For example, I use just one space in Capacities for almost everything in my life, personal as well as professional. I now created a few 'dummy' objects with lots of lines and a description: "--------GENERAL-------" or "------MEMORIES-------" or "------ENTERTAINMENT------". While I do not strictly need the description, I would be very happy just to have a basic way of dividing these objects into larger groups. A simple divider line would do the trick.
