u can for some reason only multi select in the embed view (see top right). and then just drag and select as u would normally with blocks. the multi select as present in the context menu after clicking the three dots 'alt shift click' does nothing in all other views.

in all other views it just opens them as a page, and if clicked on via the context menu instead it does nothing further. no highlight and the object number doesn't increase after
