Block reference on same page

- References can be pasted but they are shown as either a raw url or underlined text (if pasted over text).
- They do nothing on click, they can't be followed.

Really hoping to finally transition to Capacities this summer, but can't make the switch until this feature is implemented!!!

Same Page Anchor Links
A
Andrew Jeter
Currently I want to be able to add notes to a "Page A" and use a "block reference" link as an anchor link within that same page. When I click the link on "Page A," it just reopens "Page A." I would prefer that it would scroll to the linked block on "Page A" and highlight the block, rather than merely reloading the page. This would be VERY helpful for adding helpful notes and doing research.
The "anchor link" functionality using "block references" works as described above when linking to a block on a different page - but not on the same page.

This is really quite basic functionality. If you want to compete with the likes of Obsidian, this really should get done. We should be able to quickly and easily link to another heading in the same document. In addition, so many people use markdown these days that it should be recognized and supported when editing a document.
eg.
[Go to My Heading] (#my-heading) or [[#my-heading]]

I just started using Capacities and this is the first thing I've realised is missing. It would be really useful for this to be fixed.

Unable to Create Block References Within Same Object
C
Cédric Aellen
## Description
When attempting to create a reference to a block within the same object, the app generates a capacities://... link instead of a proper block reference.
## Expected Behavior:
The app should create a valid block reference when linking to blocks within the same object
## Actual Behavior:
The system produces a capacities://... URL format link instead of creating a functional block reference.

Steffen Bleher Thank you!

Steffen Bleher I commenting this here because it seems to be related. When you paste a reference to page A from A itself, a bare non-functional URL is pasted, exactly the same as with references to local blocks.

This seems like an oversight. Please update so we can use this feature. On lengthy pages with citations this feature is critical.

Carlos Petral
Andrew Jeter Yes, but if you take a look at the original response from Steffen, it was intentional at some point, which perplexes me because I use block linking a LOT and I can't understand how not having it across blocks in the same page can be deliberate. Moreover, it's kind of possible in the sense that you indeed can paste a broken link, which doesn't feel like deliberate either. I literally have a project in my Notion that is named "Migrate to Capacities" and this is the only issue holding me back. I keep a link to this issue in order to check it regularly...

Any plan to fix it? This is a basic feature when using a big document and need to reference into important part of it.

The description of the issue is not entirely accurate (maybe it was at the moment):
- References can be pasted but they are shown as either a raw url or underlined text (if pasted over text).
- They do nothing on click, they can't be followed.

Carlos Petral: Thanks, just updated.

+1 for this feature, would make journaling much more convenient especially if you want to refer to observations you've already made
