Backup Causing Duplicate Notes

I had been backing up my data several times. However, every time I download a backup and then log back in, many of my notes show up as duplicates. Because of this, I’m unable to maintain a reliable backup system — which adds to my anxiety about the safety of my data.
** I used "Manual Full Export"
Since this is a crucial issue for me — I rely on Capacities to store important, detailed professional information — I’m now wondering: has anyone else experienced these kinds of duplication problems? And more importantly, have these issues been addressed or resolved in a recent update?

Beth Hi, Beth. My last backup was quite a while ago — it was on February 21 earlier this year.

Beth I'm not OP, but I've had a duplication issue that happened on December 9th right after the tasks update. I have 3+ copies of most (if not all) of my items. I don't see an easy way to revert or bulk delete (outside of querying by creation date and hoping I don't delete something that isn't a duplicate).

Trent Bac: Hi Trent, the backup shouldn't create duplication when you log back in. I've not seen that reported before. Is this the behaviour you are experiencing? There was a duplication bug on 9th December but that was fixed yesterday, so it doesn't match the timeline of your last export.

Michael Kucek: Hi Michael, sorry for the inconvenience. There is a bulk delete option (cmd shift click on what you want to delete and then click the trash icon). You could switch 'Created today' to the table view, and scroll to the 'Date created' property. This could give you some clues. I'd expect the duplicates to have the same or similar timestamps.

Beth It happened several times when I used manual full export in the past.
There weren’t many objects at the time, but the duplication required manual cleanup, which made me uncomfortable using that option.
It may no longer be an issue now, but I’d prefer not to try manual export again.
These days, automatic backup is working well for me.

Beth I had already enabled automatic backup but forgot about it when I asked the question.
After posting, I checked the auto-backup settings and confirmed that it’s working as expected.
