OpenAI's Whisper model does a great job at taking voice recordings and transcribing them perfectly. This can be great for transcribing meetings or voice notes for quick capture. It would even be cool to take voice recordings from Telegram voice notes or WhatsApp.

I'm not technical so bear with me. If using OpenAI to transcribe voicenotes to text ... will the content of the notes then get used by OpenAI for training the model?

Quick Audio Capture with Automatic Transcription and Summary

Ideas arise unexpectedly, and we need an intelligent way to capture them. A quick audio capture feature, accessible via the mobile app or an integration (like WhatsApp), would solve this. Upon sending an audio file, Capacities would perform automatic transcription, generate a summary of the main points, and deliver both the transcription and the summary directly to the daily note. This would make it much easier to register these fleeting ideas, preventing them from being lost.

I think it would be incredible helpful to add some features similar to voicepal - converting the words you say to a simplified version of it.

This is also incredibly useful inline. Cuts out typing time.

Chad Hall especially on phones … the apple transcriber is ok and has got better but still isn’t a patch on whisper .. so I def agree with you

My wife actually thought it'd be great if you could ask whatever your AI assistant is to add a note to Capacities. Maybe even have the ability to parse certain queues such as "...with the person John..." and it automatically create that link to the Person object of John.

Heptabase has also recently released this feature, I use it multiple times daily. Both the voice note and the transcription appear in the daily journal. My subscription for both platforms retire about the same time I guess I have a value decision to make??

Reflect App does this and it's a game changer for quickly capturing notes, action items AND for long prose/open thinking (i.e., on a walk).

I would use this every day. It would release new uses for Capacities for me and remove a limitation.
Use via a subscriber's own OpenAI or Whisper account removes the cost uncertainty problem.
However it is implemented (Reflect is a good example) it would be a game-changer for Capacities. Bring it on !!!

I journal daily trough Voicenotes which became a major part of my note-taking. Having transcription in capacities would be awesome.
