Ability to add annotations

I would like to add annotations to specific words for things like definitions or side notes that might not fit in the flow of text in an object. For example, I would like to be able to hover over an annotated word and have the annotation pop up similar to the popup that appears when you hover over a page. A potential use case would be for abbreviations or acronyms that might not be common for you and the annotation could serve as a reminder of what the abbreviation or acronym means.

I strongly agree.
There are many discussions about the types of notes that could be support from simple notes/comments/annotations to academic footnotes.
In my mind, the core of this product is writing and the ability to comment/note etc. is a foundational feature for a writing product.
Rather than focus on complex systems like task management - focus on good writing tools.
Give us a basic comment feature and add the more complex features later. From zero to 1 is the biggest jump in functionality. From 1 to 10 (options) is incremental improvement.
Besides, ToDoist has a task management system that is minimally well integrated to Capacities.
Why would I push for a native task management system when the full set of basics writing tools (like comments) is not yet supported.

Totally agree. Would love a way to annotate or leave comments to specific words within a block.
