When on iOS app, and I want to share something to the app from share screen, capacities will open, but nothing will happen.. It doesn't import the thing I wanted to share. It could be text, an image, a link, etc. doesn't matter. The app just opens, like it wants me to then manually paste it.

Hello, sadly this is not fixed for me. In apps other than a browser it works, but in both firefox and chrome it doesn't work and only opens the quick action menu. I`m on version 1.50.3. I can sent a screen recording if you want me to.

This is fixed on the latest version of the iOS app.

iOS app freezes after creating a weblink
T
Taylor Mc
When I create a weblink, either from the Share -> capacities or via New -> paste url, the app freezes after giving it a title. I have to reload the app to continue
Capacities v1.44.34; Apple iPhone; iOS v18.1.1; WebKit v605.1.15 (WebKit v605.1.15); Mobile (Capacitor); 1/29/2025, 10:26:53 AM
Steps I’m taking:
- Share -> capacities
- Select space
- Wait for it to scrape link metadata / populate title
- Click Tags
- App unresponsive

Mobile weblinking and overall webclipping

I'm running the latest iOS on an iPhone 15 Pro Max, with the latest Capacities app. When I try to capture a weblink from Chrome using the menu that directs to capture into Capacities, I keep getting what appears to be proper link populated content, but then in the notes section is just say "Web", which is linked but carries none of the relevant content in the weblink within notes.
This obviously makes this kind of common capture a lot more effort, bordering on not worth doing. This seems to have changed, since before it seemed to work as expected.

Also been having this issue. I initially thought I was doing something wrong but then figured out the functionality just doesn't work. Behaves identically to what Jeremy Chua posted below
iPhone 15 Pro Max, iOS 18.5
Brave browser (also tried Safari before posting here - same issue), sharing from other apps also doesn't work in the same way

I have this same issue as well. Not sure if it's intended behaviour, but I'm guessing it shouldn't be. Have attached some screenshots if it helps. I tried sharing a YouTube video (In this case - the Capacities mobile app showing the share sheet working) with the Capacities app. Once I click, it just shows the normal quick actions button, and the link/url or content is lost.

Improved share sheet on mobile

Currently iOS sharing doesn't work at all, chrome has no capacities option to share to, other apps like youtube lead to capacities but then only the quick actions dialog is opened. I guess that is not intended.
Overall I also thought before that sharing and saving content to capacities on mobile was a weak point. Instead of opening capacities and clicking through the dialogs in there to add content, I'd love to see a small share popup where one decides on the object type, tags, collection etc. and then it gets added - without ever opening capacities.

Thanks for the feedback. Does the problem always occur or does sharing only fail occasionally? Is there any other recognizable pattern, e.g. does it never work with web links? Any information is helpful, thanks!

Luca Joos For me it never works. From browser I cant choose capacities to share to. From other apps like youtube, photos or any other app I share and only the quick actions menu opens.
Im on 1.49.6

Alexander Sc: All right, very strange. I'll look at it again next week, unfortunately I couldn't reproduce it this morning.

Luca Joos Hmm, any other version infos you need besides capacities? iOS is on 18.5 if that helps. I also tried mail app and instagram and in both sharing only leads to the quick actions popup.

Luca Joos no matter the kind of content – url from 3rd party app and iOS Safari, PDF from 3rd party Scanner app or iOS Files app, image from iOS Photos – all lead to the same experience as described here: the Quick Actions bottom sheet opens as if starting the flow for creating new content.
I’m on Capacities 1.49.12 running on iOS 18.5 (22F76)

Luca Joos interesting … had a hunch to disable Private Relay on my device since that sometimes causes problems with other services that apps use - and sharing this page to Capacities with the share sheet worked to make a weblink! One time 😫. I couldn’t do it again (even disabled the Safari content blocking) and it didn’t work with other apps like Photos or 3rd party document apps. Curious to know if others here have had any luck with turning off Private Relay or Safari content blockers.

iOS sharing with share sheet doesn't bring in content, only shows the Quick Actions bottom sheet

The inability to bring content into Capacities makes it much less useful on a daily basis.
Examples of what is happening:
- when using the iOS share sheet with website, the Quick Actions bottom sheet opens with options for creating new content.
- when using the iOS share sheet with a PDF, the Quick Actions bottom sheet opens with options for creating new content.
What I expect:
- when using the iOS share sheet with a website, a weblink will be created
- when using the share sheet with a PDF, that PDF will be added to the space and I am able to modify content, etc.

Same issue for me across apps and browsers on iOS. I can’t create web links from share sheet at all.

Laurie Stark yes same here. Not being able to share from an app, especially a web browser is a bit of a downer. I have to copy and paste the url which is the only work around.
